Arriving in Paris

Items Suggested:
Heat Protectant
Flat Iron/Curling Iron
Hairspray

Step 1. Before you start styling your hair, your hair must be completely clean. This means free of any product, grease, and heat. Wash your hair thoroughly with a good quality shampoo and conditioner. Never forget to condition, because this will help replace oils that were lost in the shampoo (cleaning) process. If you have dry hair, maybe consider not washing your hair so often. Dry hair can be caused by overwashing.

Step 2. Brush your hair out with a widetooth comb (NEVER use anything other than one of these when your hair is wet), and part your hair to your liking. In this case, Selena's part is almost down the center, but don't drift too far from your natural part or the hairstyle will look too fake. Blow dry your hair if needed, however it is not recommended unless you are short on time.

Step 3. If your hair is naturally wavy or curly, go ahead and straighten your hair out. It doesn't have to be pin straight, but the curls must be reduced before starting.

Step 4. Section off your hair into two layers, a top and a bottom. This helps keep too much hair out of the way. Once you're done with that, take your curling iron (a 1" flat iron works amazingly as well), and start curling your hair from your ears down as you would normally. If you have no idea how to curl with a flat iron, check out this link here.

Step 5. Once you've finished with your bottom layer, unclip your hair and continue with the top layer until you're done. Once you're done, apply any kind of hairspray if you'd wish to lock in the look (especially if you curled with a flat iron, or using hair extensions).

Enjoy your new hairstyle!
